Welcome to GMT Timber Frames. So much has been written about the beauty, durability and strength of oak that we probably can't add much. What we can do is build beautifully crafted frames and structures. From a small oak porch for our local village pub to a complete house or barn frame, GMT can handle projects on any scale.
Based in Somerset, but working nationwide, with our many years experience of framing and carpentry, we have the skills and knowledge required to maximise the potential of your project.
As an example of what we can achieve, in early 2014 GMT were chosen to replace the 100-year-old Middle Drawbridge at the Tower of London. We constructed a replica bridge on site, which is used and admired by thousands of visitors every day.
Our Work
GMT Timber Frames have worked on numerous projects all over the country. We construct our frames using traditional methods that have been proven over centuries.
A growing proportion of our work involves the use of new materials and construction techniques such as glulam timbers and stainless steel components which can offer a more contemporary feel to your project. Whilst the majority of our work has historically been for the residential market we are undertaking an increasing number of projects in the commercial sector.
