Frame Glazing
Using the latest direct-glazed systems. This method provides a seamless look, as if the glass was an integral part of the frame, and also eliminates water leaks, draughts, and allows for movement within the frame as time passes.

Joinery
from standard ranges or fully bespoke. This can be combined with the glazing system.

Studwork, cladding and roofing
Some frame designs may require elements of softwood studwork to be incorporated, either where oak is not needed, or to save cost. Cladding in oak, douglas fir or larch boarding can be supplied and fitted as required. We can recommend various roofing options and approved contractors.

Frame finishing
Most frames are supplied in the sawn finish, and are sandblasted once the building envelope is sealed. Alternatively we can provide the frame with a planed finish.

SIPS
GMT work closely with a Somerset company who manufacture complete building envelopes using “SIPS”- Structurally Insulated Panels. The panels are factory built, and can be used in conjunction with a timber frame to form highly insulated walls, partitions and roof panels. As an alternative to site-cut studwork, or heavy masonry, SIPS dramatically reduce site programme times. Made from timber and wood fibre products,as their name suggests, SIPS are designed to carry structural load and provide very high levels of thermal and sound insulation. They can be constructed using either man-made or natural insulation cores.
